Two ETH students are working on a turtle-inspired robot that can swim very well while carrying plenty of cargo. The Naro-Tartaruga (The name of the product) may not be as movable as a fish or eelbot, but it might be easier to build, and it is better for carrying payloads and robot parts like batteries and controllers. As of now, the robot is a huge hollow vessel with fake turtle flippers, which will help it move itself through the water. New designs include the more realistic-looking turtle robot seen above.
